Duos

In preparation for their major project on the scheme (the composition of duo-concerti) each composer mentee wrote a duo for two of the performer mentees. In the line of Berio, these smaller sketches would then go on to become the backbones of the larger work. This gave the composers additional opportunities to develop material and get to know their performers across multiple projects, and gave the performers valuable time to become familiar with the unique sound (and notational) world of their composer.

These duos were coached by members of Riot Ensemble, and then the mentees curated the final concert on which these chamber pieces eventually showcased.
